Idk why but I keep thinking about when I was in 7th grade my English teacher forced me to let her read my personal fan fiction and proceeded to embarrasse me in front of the whole class and say how terrible it was and it was a “cry for help”. This wasn’t even a month after she aired out something I confided in her in as a joke/lesson to the class, and a little after she told us– the honors English class– that we were delusional if we thought the job market would open up for us and that it didn’t matter of we were the smart class, that none of us were ever going to make it or be successful in life. I was 12.

One time when I was younger I was refusing to take headache medicine and my mom said “the person who invented that medicine is probably so sad you won’t let them help you” and now every time I find myself denying medicine I just imagine the saddest scientist making those big wet eyes like “why won’t you let me help” and whoop then I take the medicine
